Amanda + Phil’s Wedding

Say Cheese! Literally. This heart-string-tugging wedding was held at Villa Terra Art Museum overlooking Lake Michigan, in the beautiful state of Wisconsin. Though notorious for chilly weather, it was a beautiful California-esque at a comfortable 70 degrees! Every bride’s dream come true (at least for those having an outdoor wedding!) Although I wasn’t a designated photographer (main photography done by the talented Matt Mason) I was fortunate enough to get some good shots as an attendee :-)

Amanda, being my only girl cousin on our Japanese side, looked absolutely stunning. What a change from her pj’s, rugby wear, and t-shirts! Since she’s my cousin I get to say things like that :-) It was such a heartfelt wedding—seeing her marry off to Phil, one of the most genuine people I have ever met, left me with nothing but confidence and happiness for their marriage and their life together.

I don’t know how dads do it—I almost felt as if I was letting go of Amanda, too. Our whole family, even, felt like we were giving away our only daughter. Through the tears there were smiles, and I couldn’t be more happier for Phil and Amanda. Thank you for having us, congratulations, and we love you Amanders!

Nancy + Bryan Rehearsal Dinner

Ever wanted a job that would take you places you’d never been to? I’m not talking Germany or the Netherlands. Believe it or not, I had never set foot in the Old Spaghetti Factory before. Being a huge fan of the carb otherwise known as pasta, you think I would have.

Nancy Arias—whose tea party bridal shower I shot recently—had her rehearsal dinner here in the cit of Duarte, CA.  It was a great night and a great last meal with everyone before her big day! Touching speeches, awesome entrees, and best of all ICE CREAM! I’m so happy for her and am so glad I’ve been able to capture moments of her journey with her along the way. Congrats, Nancy and best wishes!!

Nancy’s Bridal Shower!

Ever wanted to travel to England to have a proper English tea party? Honestly, I never thought about it until this awesome bridal shower party happened! Nancy Arias, an old high-school friend of mine who I reconnected with at Tammy’s birthday party, has a pretty incredible bridal party if you ask me. All of the tea cups and plates were individualized and even made authentic clinking sounds! It was almost as if the Gods of tea were forcing my pinky to stick out a little bit. With home made iced tea, lemonade, sangria and pink Champagne ready for consumption, this tea party could’ve easily welcomed the Mad Hatter and friends (although, I guess these things are girls only. Sorry!) They also had a hand-made backdrop assembled for a make-shift photo booth. If you’re wondering about the girl in the toilet paper, they also had a “build-a-bride” contest where they built a dress out of TP! Seriously a day to remember all around, and so glad I was able to be a part of it. Seriously, how many guys can say they’ve been to a bridal shower? (Crosses off bucket list.)
