Bon + Tina Engagement Session

If you grew up in or around the Northridge area and graduated highschool between the years of 2003-2006, you probably knew of a guy named Bonifer. Maybe you knew all four Bonifer brothers, or just one or two. MAYBE you just saw the back of a Bonifer’s head in class. Who knows!

Anyway, Bonifer (#2) is tying the knot to a beautiful young lady, Tina, and I had the pleasure of photographing their engagement session over at Sesnon Park. Sesnon park, not to be confused with O’Melveny park (learned that the hard way) was a wide open, quiet spot, perfect for these two to enjoy themselves and their love! Except for that one run in with the t-rex….

Personal plug here: I’ve known the Parungao family for more than half of my life. They were like family to me growing up. Endless hours were spent at their house on Gledhill playing N64, counter-strike, using LaBella hair gel to spike our hair (because it was cool) and just hanging out after and before school. I love this fam and all of its members—I’m honored to be able to capture special moments like this for them. Tina; I’m so happy that you guys fell in love and are about to share a life time together. You have made Dico a lucky guy! Congrats to both of you!

Bon’s 26th Birthday Party!

On June 22nd, we celebrated my friend Bonifer’s 26th birthday party! We have been friends since 7th grade, and have kept in touch since. It was a new house that he and his family had moved into, so the decor and setting weren’t as nostalgic as birthdays past, but being around old friends again was a great feeling, and an ode to our genuine friendship.

I can still remember walking up the hill from Holmes Middle School after a long days work (8 to 2 of getting my knowledge on—ha!) and having a miniature lan party playing some CS 1.5 and smash brothers afterwards. Not to mention Mr. Parungao’s awesome pantry filled with filipino foods, and most importantly, cup o’ noodles. With great food, drinks, and fun times talking about the old days, it was a great party and a great night. Happy birthday, Bon!
